Seek Him Early

Psalm 63:1, "O God, You are my God; early will I seek Thee: my soul thirsts for You; my flesh longs for You in a dry and thirsty land where there is no water." and John 4:14, "But whosoever drinks of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life…”

Over the years I have learned that I am a morning person, especially regarding anything like school or work projects. True story, when I was younger I would knock out when the sun went down. I have fallen asleep at the midnight opening of a movie and one time at a concert. So, I have learned that if I need to do something of importance I need to do it in the morning. This is true for my devotional and prayer time with the Lord. When I seek Him early in the morning, my day has to align with His Word. I can focus my attention on Him and allow the Holy Spirit to speak to my heart and mind. I can seek Him for guidance and cast all my cares upon Him. To seek forgiveness of my sins, to wrestle with the meaning of scripture in His presence. Seek Him early in the morning and watch Him satisfy your thirst.
