No Fear!

When Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson was nominated to the United States Supreme Court, she spoke powerful words during her congressional hearing. She vowed to fulfill her duties “without fear or favor.” What a profound statement, especially as she became the first Black woman to ascend to the nation's highest court. Hearing her speak of living without fear caught my attention. Surely, the challenges she would face included not only criticism but also potential threats against her life.

Like Justice Jackson, we are also called to live without fear. As followers of Christ, we are invited to walk in confidence, trusting that our heavenly Father watches over us, knows our needs, and provides for us.

The cultural climate today can feel unsettling and uncertain, but Jesus warned us that days like this would come. He encouraged us with these words:  “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world” (John 16:33, NIV).

Instead of fear, Jesus offers us His peace—a peace that surpasses all understanding. He reminds us:  “Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid” (John 14:27, NKJV).

It’s said that the Bible contains over 365 reminders to “fear not”—one for every day of the year. The Apostle Paul reassures us:  “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind” (2 Timothy 1:7, NKJV).

Whatever challenges you may be facing—whether sickness, job loss, relationship struggles, family difficulties, or financial concerns—turn your worries over to God in prayer. He is your source of joy, love, and provision. His promise is to be with us at all times.

When fear tries to grip your heart, resist it and pray for the peace that Jesus has already given you. Let us live boldly, trusting in His promises. No fear.
